​Polar Cave Ice Cream Parlour was established in Mashpee in 1995, for the past twenty three years it has been owned and operated by Mark Lawrence (together with his daughter Kelsey), an entrepreneur and Cape Cod resident for over forty years. Mark brings his many years of experience in the hospitality industry, combined with a great British sense of humour to ensure his customers receive the “ultimate ice cream experience” with a return visit guaranteed time and time again.

Mark’s daughter, Kelsey (Endicott College, 2017 & Van Loan Graduate School 2018, now living in Virginia), worked alongside him on weekends and during school vacations, since she was 7 years old (she still works on the website and marketing) to help make Polar Cave the finest ice cream parlour on Cape Cod. Polar Cave prides itself in serving generous portions of its super-premium ice cream (what many consider –” Cape Cod and beyond Best Ice Cream”) at a fair price while being firmly committed to providing a fun, family friendly atmosphere. Our Customer Service is a throwback to “The Good Old Days.” We are firm believers in putting the “customer” back in “Customer Service” where you come first and are treated as a valued guest. It’s not just Ice Cream it’s the total experience………

Over the years our ice cream has been the recipient of many awards, among them Boston.com Best Vanilla on Cape Cod, CapeCodOnLine.com Top 5 Ice Cream and Readers Choice Awards for the past twenty two years. Cape Cod SCORE’s Build a Better Mousetrap Award 2012, Cape Cod Children’s Museum Corporate Citizen of the Year 2012. Mark was awarded the Thanks For Giving Humanitarian Award from the Town of Mashpee in 2016, in recognition of his contribution to the community. As well as receiving Mashpee Citizen of the Year, from The Mashpee Chamber of Commerce in 2016. Mass Live awarded us #3 Ice Cream Shop in Massachusetts in 2018. We were featured on Boston ABC TV Channel 5 show Chronicle, in 2019. The website YELP awarded us Best Ice Cream Shop in Massachusetts in 2022.
